Owner/Chef Joshua Wojehowski
Josh Wojehowski is a 2001 Culinary Institute of America graduate. Upon graduating the Culinary, Josh went on to develop the culinary arts program at Begin Managed Programs. BMP is a New York City based nonprofit committed to teaching long term unemployed people culinary skills so they are equipped to reenter the workforce. Josh developed the program from the ground up, wrote the curriculum and taught the pilot program that eventually led to hundreds of people graduating the culinary arts program and allowing them to gain employment and their independence. Josh’s cooking career started locally at Painter’s Tavern, The Gardens at Catlin Creek and Hotel Thayer. Eventually his experience led him to a career as a special events chef. For over a decade, Josh has worked for some of New York City’s premier catering companies like Simply Divine Kosher Caterers, Olivier & Cheng, Abigail & Kirsch and Match Caterers. Josh has catered numerous weddings, galas, and special celebrations large and small. Josh also has his own Youtube channel titled “The Culinary Guide for Men” that aims to teach easy cooking demos that will make anyone appear like a seasoned chef. Josh believes in cooking food that is seasoned simply, but soulfully and conjures feelings of nostalgia.
Owner/Events Planner Heather Vomero Wojehowski
Heather Wojehowski graduated Marymount Manhattan College in 2001 with a Communication Arts and Creative Writing degree. Heather spent several years working as a writer and book editor in Manhattan. Along side her career in publishing, Heather started working in the special events industry. Her first entry into the celebratory world of events was assisting for the nonprofit organizations that coordinate society debutante balls in New York City. Eventually that led to managing film events at the Jacob Burns Film Center in Pleasantville, NY and working with book publishers to coordinate their author events. In 2011, Heather partnered with her husband chef Josh Wojehowski to curate all special events for their catering company First & Last Catering that is now known as Events By Fresh, a full service off premise special events and catering company. The idea for FRESH was born out of the idea that Heather and Josh set out to prove fast food can be healthy, affordable and still save you time. Anyone on the run or simply not in the mood to cook can stop at FRESH and have access to a meal that is 100% made from scratch with ingredients that are used immediately while in the peak of their FRESHness! After meeting Josh in Cornwall, NY 18 years ago Heather is excited to continue the growth of their business and family in the place they now call home with their two children Coralai and Walker.
